Sherwood Hu, Director of the School of Film and Television of Shanghai Theatre Academy, is a member of the American Film and Theatre Union, a director of the YI Theater in New York, and a film and television director. He was nominated for the POOKELA Theatre Award for Best Actor in 1992 for his role in the Broadway play "M. Butterfly". In 1995, the film "Lan Ling Wang" won the Best Visual Image Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Best Film Award at the Los Angeles International Film Festival and Los Angeles International Film Festival.
In 1998, Hu was invited to direct his first English-language film "The Legend of Hawaii", and on October 20, 2006, he directed the film "The Himalayan Prince", which was selected for the Golden Globe Award and the World Cinema Award at the Los Angeles International Film Festival, and won the Best Film and Best Director Awards at the Calabria International Film Festival in Italy. In 2010, he created the 8-minute film "Forever Shanghai" for the Shanghai Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China. 2013, Hu's science fiction film "Amazing" won the Golden Angel Award for Best Film at the 9th China-US Film Festival. In the same year, he served as a jury member of the MPA Asia Pacific Film Program for the first time.
